The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), will showcase Challenge America and its Israeli partner, Restart, during its annual Policy Conference, March 24-26, 2019.

In 2018, Challenge America led a delegation of U.S. Veterans to Tel-Aviv to participate in Restart’s Makers for Heroes program. AIPAC will screen a six-minute video featuring this event and two Veteran participants (one from the U.S. and one from Israel) during one of the general sessions; 18,000 people will see the miraculous transformations and positive impact that this  program provides to those who serve their countries.

In addition, Challenge America and Restart will present their programs for Veterans in a joint exhibit in the center of The Village, which functions as the central gathering place for Conference attendees.

Restart is a non-profit organization in Tel-Aviv, Israel that aims to help wounded soldiers disengage from the injury cycle and restore their life. Restart connects soldiers to a community of business executives, entrepreneurs and makers who engage them in a meaningful journey of exploration and doing.

For its part, Challenge America left Tel Aviv so inspired by Restart’s work that the organization decided right then and there to bring it back to the U.S. In partnership with Cleveland Clinic Innovations, the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System, and HIMSS Innovation Center, the U.S. program -
Challenge America: Makers for Veterans (CAMVETS) - will launch in Cleveland this Spring, April 25-27.

This program enlists the talents of engineers, designers and other professionals who come together to design innovative solutions to the unmet needs of injured Veterans.

Together, the two programs are working to solidify the U.S.-Israeli collaboration to serve injured Veterans from both countries and beyond. While wounded soldiers from Israel will participate in the CAMVETS Cleveland program, U.S. injured Veterans will travel to Tel Aviv for Makers For Heroes May 21-23, 2019.

This collaborative effort then reaches even further still. The solutions are designed for one Veteran, but have the potential to impact many more Veterans and others from around the world facing similar challenges.
