To commemorate the 20th Anniversary of 9/11, the national Veteran nonprofit, Challenge America, will host a celebrity dinner and golf tournament at the picturesque Aspen Glen Club in Carbondale, Colorado. This special weekend will offer guests the unique opportunity to Stand United in memory of those lost on that tragic day and in gratitude for those in and out of uniform who serve our great country at home and abroad.
Set against the backdrop of Mt. Sopris, the evening event at the Aspen Glen Club on 9/10 will include a short program and live auction, with dinner and signature cocktails. Attire is Mountain Casual. On 9/11, golfers can enjoy a leisurely start, featuring a clinic at 11 am and a shotgun start at 1 pm.
Joining us for this Friday evening event is three-time winner of the New York Nightlife Award for outstanding jazz vocalist, Allan Harris. A Brooklyn-born, Harlem-based vocalist/guitarist/bandleader/composer, Allan Harris has reigned supreme as the most accomplished and exceptional singer of his generation. Aptly described by the Miami Herald as an artist blessed with, “the warmth of Tony Bennett, the bite and rhythmic sense of Sinatra, and the sly elegance of Nat ‘King' Cole,” he He has performed with or opened for Tony Bennett, Dionne Warwick, Diana Krall, Abbey Lincoln, Natalie Cole, comedian Alan King, Al Jarreau, Reverend Al Green, Lee Ritenour, Michael Feinstein, Cassandra Wilson, and Wynton Marsalis.
